Day 1: Yangon Arrival Day and Yangon Site-seeing
Upon arrival at airport, after luggage collection, you will be welcome by local tour guide. In the afternoon, visit Kandawgyi Park to relax, Chaukhtetgyi Reclining Buddha image which is the biggest one in Yangon, and evening visit to the most significant pagoda, Shwedagon, which the global scholars describe as One of Wonders In The World. Shwedagon plays very important role in the Old Burmese History not only standing as the holiest structure for the Buddhist all over the world. Enjoy the sunset from nearly 26-century years old Most Glorious Buddhist Shrine.
Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon – Putao (B,L,D)
Upon arrival at Putao airport, transfer to your guest house. Putao, lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the regionâ€™s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains etc. After a brief fresh up and a light lunch we take a walk in and around Putao for the orientation.

Day 3: Putao – Shangaung – Wasandum(B,L,D)
Breakfast and we depart by jeep or truck depending on the group size to upper Shangaung with the distance 17 km which takes us about one hour on a rugged road. Shangaung has two separate villages and inhabitant of both Lisu and Rawan tribes. Our adventure starts as we get off the jeep and start trek to Wasandum with the distance 20 km which takes us about 6 hours trek through Mt. Shangaung at 4468 ft, 1362 meters. First 10 km will be straight up along the trail winding up to the top of Mt. Shangaung from then trail goes all the way down to Wasandum. This will be the testing journey for us as we have to ascend from 1060 meters up to 1362 meters and then descend back to 860 meters. Wasandum is a small Rawan village situates by Namro creek.

Day 4: Wasandum – Awadum – Kalang – Ziyadum (B,L,D)
Breakfast and we leave the village for our today destination at Ziyadum, through relatively flat land with just few of ups and downs. At first we cross Namro creek to Awadum with the distance 7.4 km which takes us about 3 hours. Awadum is mainly inhabited by Lisu and separate in to two by a large paddy field. We continue trek to Ziyadum with the distance 6.4 km which takes us about 2 hours through deep evergreen forests. Ziyadum, situate at altitude of 3440 ft, 1048 meters is the most northwestern and last frontier village in Putao region, mainly resident are Rawan tribes. After a brief fresh up we visit Ziya creek for a fantastic sunset view with a blazing snow Mountains in the west which spark in to steady flowing Ziya creek.

Day 5: Ziyadum – Camp I(B,L,D)
Breakfast and set off for camp I, located at 4980 ft, 1518 meters by the side of Phangran creek. We first pass through farmland later in to deep evergreen forest. After a good two hour walking we reach to confluence of Phonyin and Phangran creeks. We then cross Phonyin creek by bridge and keep trekking up and down along Phangran creek until we reached to our today destination camp I, which took us another two and a half hours.

Day 6: Camp I – Camp II – Camp III(B,L,D)
We enjoy morning beauty of the nature surrounding while our cook prepare breakfast for us. Breakfast and we set off for camp II, situated at 8016 ft, 2443 meters along the route steadily ascending which took us about two hours. Lunch stop and we set off our today destination camp III, situate at 9996 ft, 3046 meters, with the trail mostly step up. After about three hour steadily up hill trek.

Day 7: Camp III – Base Camp(B,L,D)
Breakfast and we set off for our today destination base camp, locate at 12000 ft, 3658 meters, which should take us about 7 hours. To day journey will be the most challenging one as the route going up and down rapidly. As we go higher the climb becomes deeper and strenuous. We should reach the base camp after a hard and long day on the rough terrain. (so called base camp but there is not even have enough space available to pitch a couple tents). It was impossible to make fire due to heavy snow and no firewood. We just cooked our meal using gas stove and stay freeze during the night.

Day 8: Base camp – Summit – Base camp(B,L,D)
Night will be rather chill as cool air swift through the mountain. Breakfast and we set off for the summit at 14050 ft, 4282 meters. Having about one hour climb we reach on the top of the glacier from where we see a beautiful lake down. This part actually took us just about two and a half hour. From here we can see many other snow capped mountains in the region. This part may take us much longer then we expected as the climb was rather difficult and we carefully had to ascend by the edge of the deep cliff. The view from this spot is spectacular as we literally standing one of the highest spot in the region and most of the other summits were right below us. The weather change rapid then ever and the visibility getting limited to just a couple of feet with strong wind as it could sweep through us at no time. We spend some time at the summit and return back to base camp and spend another freezing night.

Day 9: Base Camp – Camp III – Camp II(B,L,D)
We bit farewell to Phonyin Razi and set off for our destination camp II passing by camp III which should take us a good 7 hours. Our return journey will be no easier having descended quite rapidly although it was not as strenuous as up journeys.

Day 10: Camp II – Ziyadum(B,L,D)
We listen to the bird’s call and enjoy the environment. We have a rather relax morning as the distance to day will be much shorter. After early lunch and set off for Ziyadum through the trek ups and down the valley. After a last up hill trek we reached to Ziya plateau with a smoke from the farm which was the first sign of the civilization ever since we left Ziya one week ago. A warm bath by all mean was a greatest enjoyment.

Day 11 : Ziyadum – Wasandum(B,L,D)
Set off for Wasandum late in the morning after lunch usually crossing suspension bridges and through beautiful evergreen forests.

Day 12: Wasandum – Shangaung – Putao(B,L,D)
Having left the wilderness behind and returning to the clutches of human civilization. As soon as we start the trek goes challenging uphill to the plateau of Mt. Shangaung, before rapidly downhill to Shangaung where our jeep would meets us and takes us back to Putao. This evening we shall celebrate a farewell dinner with our fellow group members, including leaders, porters to commemorate the experience that we’ve shared for the past 10 days in this unique part of the world.

Day 13: Putao – Yangon(B)
After breakfast, drive to Putao Airport for the flight back to Yangon. Depending on the arrival time in Yangon, the visits to Sule Pagoda and the downtown area of Old Rangoon with many colonial buildings along with modern skyscrapers, take a walk along the Pansodan Road where you can see many more well-preserved Colonial Buildings including Port Authority and proceed up to Strand Hotel built in 1901. Then drive to Mawtin jetty to see the river-side activities.

Day 14: Yangon Departure(B)
After breakfast, depending on the departure flight time, visits in Yangon can be included; Scott Market which sells many Myanmar Traditional Handicrafts, namely, Pan Sai Myo, 10 kinds of flowers; Blacksmith, Goldsmith, Coppersmith, Stone Carvings, Wood Carvings, Lacquer Wares, and so on (Scott Market is off every Monday!). Visit the Colonial British Built Train Station and can enjoy the train ride on one of City Circling train(one-hour clockwise ride from the station to Insein Station is recommendable!)
Then transfer by car to Yangon International Airport for the flight back.
